This Sengoku warrior on horseback was created from hundreds of thousands of rice plants. The colors and shapes come from the different varieties of rice plants grown together. On the ground, the pattern is unintelligible. From the air it is amazing. The photo was taken in Inakadate, Japan.

I found this darling banner at emmie cakes . Usually I prefer making things myself if that's an option. Sometimes they turn our way, and others... well, we'll just say they turn out. Pre-made banners are $5 per circle/shape/square and $2.50 if you do the work yourself. I love the idea of a kit for a first time attempt. For St Patty's Day and another holiday, I could springboard to create my own. Now, I've just gotta block out some time.
