A New Favorite Thing

Several months ago, my team at work visited Sp^rk (Spark) for lunch in Provo near the Wells Fargo building. Delish! Then for my birthday three dear friends took me to Guru's for dinner and indulged my whim to hang in the lounge and sip fancy drinks at Sp^rk. A few days later, I hit the joint again with two other darling friends after Gypsy Tapestry for dinner and drinks. Every time I've gone, the staff has been attentive and fabulous. The food is amazing and their non-alcoholic drinks are wonderful. Did you know that Wednesdays are ladies night? Ladies get a free dessert with the purchase of a food item. Try the chocolate mousse. It's a mini trip to heaven.

End of the Trail

On Saturday we hiked Donut Falls in Little Cottonwood Canyon--starting at the Spruces campground. My compliments to Adam and Renee's camera for capturing the colors so well--and to the lady who offered to snap us all together. It was a beautiful hike that I would recommend to anyone. Be aware though that there are streams and waterfalls; they tend to draw the kids. We saw deer and chipmunks and snakes and wildflowers and other hikers and castles (big rocks that RD stood on). Here we are at the end of the trail. My particularly saucy do is compliments to the niece I'd had on my shoulders part of the way. Thanks, EL!

Lunch, Anyone?

Saturday afternoon found part of the workshop crew famished! We headed over to Guru's near Ottavio's on Center Street in Provo. We feasted on sweet potato fries and rice or pasta dishes or soup and salad. Menu items were reasonably priced and delish ! Thanks for ordering the brownie sundae Basima (oh, and for sharing with us all!). When can we go back again?

Not Getting Any Ideas

I love this bouquet. Thanks for sharing, Sarah !

What's for Dinner?

Ever loathe the weekly (or daily) grocery trips? Ever get to the grocery store and wonder what happened to your list? Wish you could automatically generate one rather than having to plan one out? Want a monthly calendar to help you plan meals? Need new meal ideas to add to your staples? Nicole blogged about this website and its dinner planning hints and tips. You can create your own online recipe database and share recipes. I think this sounds like a fabulous (and free ) idea! Getting in the Mood

I've been fighting it. Thanksgiving hasn't come yet! But, seeing this wreath puts me in the mood for Christmas. Thanks, Grandin Road !

Yum, Gum!

Andrea shared her pack of gum last night. Pomegranate. Delightful! Thanks, Andrea! (Disclaimer: I don't remember the pack looking like this or being a mixed flavor, but it was the only pomegranate Trident image I could find.)

In Sicily, Women Are More Dangerous than Shotguns

In Orem, it's Wiseguyz that's a-gonna get ya. I love this pizza! My friends Kristy G. and Deb introduced me to it about 2 and a half months ago. I've hit it three times since. When I think of pizza, this is the pizza I want. This small pizzeria (located near K-mart in Orem) is best for Summer sitting on the outside lawn, delivery, or take out. There is not much dine-in space. How bad is it if the owner recognizes you when you come/call in and that he knows what you are likely to order? He remembers our past conversations, makes recommendations based on what he knows I like, etc. It's almost like I have a Pizza Guy (not a Purse Lady). Do I need an intervention?

You're my obsession...

Recently I've found I am obsessed . Drawn. Can't get enough. There was a time when I couldn't even stand it. Now it is what I want. Lime! Lime! Lime! Lime! Here is an easy, yet yummy, lime pie recipe: 1 3-oz pkg lime gelatin 2 individual sized key lime flavored yogurts (c. 3-oz each) 1 tub Cool Whip, thawed 1 graham cracker pie crust in pie tin optional - lime slices and additional Cool Whip or dark chocolate shavings to decorate Mix dry gelatin with 1 yogurt. Incorporate second yogurt. Fold in Cool Whip. Pour mixture into pie crust. Refrigerate until ready to serve. This pie works well with low fat and sugar free ingredients. Enjoy!
