Birds of a Feather

One of the guys I work with got some baby chicks about a month ago. Periodically he mentions how cute they are and what they are doing. About a week ago, I had to run to IFA for some garden stuff and saw the darling little baby chickens. I've been thinking about them all week long since. Which lead to Saturday's purchase of three little chicks: a black, a golden and a yellow. And they cheep, cheep, cheep all the time. As of yet they are nameless. If Robbie has his way, they will be Bob, Bob the Builder, and Tractor Something-or-other. Not quite what I had in mind - maybe something more like Huey, Dewey and Louie or Larry, Curly and Moe or Spade, Ace, and Joker or Obsidian, Ocher, and Amber/Buff/Citrine/Occamy/Olio or Raven, Penny and Duckling. The salesman at IFA said their chickens pretty much only lay brown or white. All three should be female, so (if all goes well) the hens should start laying eggs when they are 6 months old. The golden and black chickens should lay brown e...

Ah the Memories

You may remember the deep sorrow of an earlier post at the turn of the decade. That sorrow has turned to JOY with the mad know-how of a friend at work (thanks, Angela!) . The lost SD card images have been recovered. All safe; all sound. Sigh. In case you are ever caught in a similar bind and need to recover images or files, try this: http://www.snapfiles.com/d ownloads/dlrecuva.html It works super great and is free!

Service Opportunity

(To both of my blog readers:) Feeling the spirit of the season? Need somewhere to give? Remember setting up your first home or apartment and all those things you went to your "Old Mother Hubbard" cupboards for? My sister-in-law , Rebekah, and her family are collecting items for "Apartment Start-Up Kits" for a United Way organization to give out to needy families during the coming year. Items can be gently used. Needed: dish clothes and towels cooking utensils pots and pans vacuums brooms mops buckets sponges cleaning products sugar flour spices If you would like to donate anything before January 4th, let me know and I'll help get it to her.

Sunshine

I think if you were to look up kindness, compassion, happiness and sunshine in the dictionary that you would find Angela Rogers.

Always Twirl in Front of the Mirror Before Leaving

Bet she brightened someone's day!

Feels Like Spring

Don't you wish you could sometimes bottle that Springtime feeling?

living the Gospel, going to girls' camp, getting along... Simpson Clip - Eternal Happiness For Girls' Camp this year, our stake theme was "Happily Ever After". We based our camp song off of Charlie Brown's Happiness is . The scripture we based camp around was Mosiah 2:41. And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it. Camp was in August, but last Sunday the first counselor in our ward asked three camp leaders (including me) to speak in Sacrement meeting about camp. I've been thinking about happiness again as a result. A few happiness quotes (some are just plain silly): Happiness isn...
