Family is...

Everything. Important. Fun. Craziness. All of the above.

Like Nephi, I am blessed to have goodly parents. Family is important to them. Family time is important to them. They share this love with us.

Unlike Nephi, I am blessed with excellent siblings, and they have chosen excellent spouses. I know it doesn't always happen this way and am sooo grateful they chose to join us on this crazy journey of life. Very blessed!

And I don't even know where to begin with my amazing neices and nephews! They are the best and make by life better every day.

Annually, my parents throw a Halloween bash. Pumpkin carving. Chili. Hot dogs. Donuts. Treats. We drank from fake blood bads filled with apple cider this year. (All of us that is except my youngest nephew in attendance. They looked more like plasma or urine samples than blood bags. He was too grossed out by them and drank from a boring cup.) We played several rounds of Connect Four. Lots of laughter. It was super fun.

With all of the craziness of the past few months, the date and time of the pumpkin carving contest has been bounced around. We weren't sure if it would have to be cancelled entirely.

My brother and sister-in-law's family came over after church today for dinner (chili and hot dogs) and to carve pumpkins. It was a blast to hang out with them. We were sad that we weren't able to have everyone attend.

On the plus side, we were able to virtually attend LRM's primary program, broadcast from Alaska, and attended WJM and IJM's primary program in person in Lehi. They all did a great job!

Family time makes me happy.

Let's Get It Started

Today I found a new online party planning resource . Holiday, birthday, bridal shower, baby shower, weddings, etc. It helps you create invitations or ecards, is customizable, offers list management and guest list management, sends event/birthday reminders, manages potluck sign up lists, links to Twitter and Facebook, helps you decide on a date, links to your e-calendar, links to party planning supplies, manages a to-do list, offers party planning ideas, hints and tips, and is pretty much amazing. In addition, it is free. I'm hooked.

Shot and Chaser

I did it! Today I braved a shot of wheat grass and am forever grateful to the Jamba Juice employee (Alexa) who recommended the orange juice shot as a chaser over an orange wedge. I'm not sure why today was such a momentous day. Wheat grass is something I've wanted to try for a while, but haven't dared do - kind of like my purchasing soy milk and hesitance to drink. (Thanks, Renee , for the recent soy smoothie introduction!) All I can say now is wow, wheat grass - talk about fresh!

Puttin' on the Witch!

Tonight, the majority of my family met at Gardner Village for dinner at Archibald's and then planned to wander the Village. It's Witchapalooza and witching time at the Village. By the time we finished dinner, most of the shops were closing. We looked around a bit and snapped a few pictures. I'll post them another time. The witches and pumpkins and Halloween decor was frightfully fun, but I don't think I've had such poor customer service at a restaurant before. I wish I could say that the restaurant was packed. Maybe there were extenuating circumstances we weren't aware of. Maybe it was an off night for them. Maybe I'm just grouchy. Birthdays sometimes do that. Guess I'd better see the Witch Doctor or something to get it straightened out. The company was grand: mom and dad; Adam, Renee, AJ, and EL; Nathan, Bekah, RD, and AM, and me. Their service gave us a lot of time to sit and visit. RD and AJ were darling. Both were in very good moods. RD had on hi...
